Kiln fired or "warm" glass is the oldest method of making glass - dating back 4000 years to Egypt and Persia. Fused glass work is done in a kiln and may undergo numerous firings up to over 1500 degrees to bring a piece to completion. The final shape is created by forming the glass design over or into a mold - kiln forming.
